If you visited my blog yesterday, I mentioned that I would be posting an idea for you using the Papillion Potpourri stamp set – what do you think? Please post your comments below – I would love to hear them!
Supplies:
- Papillion Potpourri stamp set
- Itty Bitty Banners stamp set
- Elegant eggplant stamp pad
- Big Shot
- Fancy Fan embossing folder
- Designer frames embossing folder
- Itty Bitty Banner framelits
- Oval Framelits
- Square lattice embossing folder
- Elegant butterfly punch
- Itty Bitty butterfly punch
- Pearls
- Wide oval punch
- Large oval punch
- dimensionals
Card Stock:
- elegant eggplant – cut one piece at 5 ½” x 8 ½” and fold in half for base of card
- crumb cake – cut one piece at 4” x 5 ¼”
- whisper white – cut one piece at 3 ¾” x 5”
- Scraps of whisper white, elegant eggplant and crumb cake
Step by Step:
- Adhere the 4” x 5 ¼” crumb cake card stock to the front of the elegant eggplant – base of card.
- Create a template from light cardboard – cut 3 of them at 4 ½” x 6”. Using the 1 ¾” x 2 ½” oval framelit – cut a hole in each of the cardboards using the big shot – cut in the top part of the template. Tape all of the cardboards together to create your template.
- To create the 2nd template, cut out using the 2 ¼” x 3” oval and cut out 3 cardboard pieces. Assemble all together. Cut a bit off around the oval – not too much!
-
Put the large template with the oval hole in it into the fancy fan embossing folder on the back side of the folder. Put the whisper white card stock over the top of that. Run through the Big Shot in the following manner:
- Multipurpose platform, embossing folder, and ONE standard cutting pad
- Then put the oval template over the oval of the Oval designer frame on the back side. Next put the fancy fan embossed card stock over the top of that and putting the oval on the top of the whisper white card stock. Run through the Big shot the same way as number 4a above. When you remove the card stock from the big shot – you will have a blank oval in the card stock – embossed around the edges with the little dots!! Woo Hoo! If you don’t, then you need to cut back the oval template a bit – don’t cut off all of the little dots on the template or it won’t work!
-
Punch out the following using these punches:
- Elegant butterfly – one from crumb cake and emboss with the square lattice folder and the bit shot.
- Itty Bitty butterfly – stamp one little butterfly from the Papillion potpourri stamp set using elegant eggplant ink and onto a scrap piece of whisper white card stock. Punch out with the punch.
- Wide oval – one elegant eggplant
- Large oval – one crumb cake
- Stamp your “Happy Birthday” from the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set onto a scrap piece of whisper white card stock using elegant eggplant ink. Cut out using the Itty Bitty Banner framelits.
- Attach the two butterflies together and using a dimensional, put in the center of your oval frame. Put 2 little pearls in the center of the butterfly to add some bling!
- Attach all of the punches from #6 above together and as shown in the picture above. Attach to bottom center of the card. Put 2 little pearls on either side of the Happy Birthday.
- Your card is finished!
Even though this is an older stamp set, I LOVE it!
